This wasn’t a very enjoyable project to do and not just because it was a project, but because I didn’t exactly choose the most cheerful topic in the world. It was morbidly interesting though. I was really surprised when I found out that mass shootings happened as often as every single day in 2017 and that major mass shootings happened bimonthly. I also was surprised that there were as many as 5 million people involved in the Women’s March of 2017. I knew that it was one of the biggest protests in history and I had heard numbers in the 2 millions being tossed around, but I hadn’t known that there was possibly 5 million. That was one of the very few things that made me happy in this project, the other one being able to write about one of my favorite shows of all time. I do like the idea of incorporating different genres into one cohesive thing. I also really enjoyed making a website, which I had never done before. I think that all of the different writing pieces as well as the website made this a lot more inclusive for me as well as whoever will read through all of my writings. I think that the strongest part of my project was my case study on the Charlottesville “Unite the Right” rally. It was something that really upset me that I had some really strong opinions on and it felt good to actually get them out on paper. The weakest part of my project was definitely my poem. I’m not very good at poetry, but it was the only thing under the creative genre that I felt I could somewhat effectively do. I feel that I deserve a B or a B- on this project. I put a lot of effort into doing this project, but I procrastinated a lot and most wasn’t done on time. If you’ll allow me to make a case for myself, I have been very busy with work, applying to colleges, other school work, and personal problems, but there were definitely times I could have worked on this project where I just chose not to.
